Who said that technology and religion can't go hand in hand?

Sister Mary Kenneth Keller (1913 – 1985) proved that it is entirely possible.

In 1940, Mary took her vows. Just three years later, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree with an emphasis in Mathematics. In 1965, Sister Mary became the first woman to receive a doctorate in computer science in the U.S., with her thesis titled "Inductive Inference from Computer-Generated Models."

The work developed by Sister Mary served as the basis for the creation of the Basic programming language.

She wrote four books on programming and computing, which have become required reading for scholars.

Sister Mary also had a vision that is now widely accepted in the field of technology: social inclusion through technology. Involved in education, Sister Mary saw computers as an educational tool and a means of human development.

We hope that your legacy in technology continues to open up more and more opportunities for the inclusion of women in this innovative market.
